A quick reference for recruiters to understand Brazilian professionals' documents.

CIR — Caderneta de Inscrição e Registro — Seafarer's Record Book / Discharge Book: Seafarer identity and sea-service record issued by the Brazilian Navy.

CBSP — Curso Básico de Segurança de Plataforma — STCW Basic Safety Training (A-VI/1) / OPITO BOSIET: Survival, firefighting, first aid and safety on offshore units.

HUET / T-HUET — OPITO HUET / T-HUET (CA-EBS): Helicopter underwater escape, required for offshore helicopter transport.

NR-10 — Segurança em eletricidade — IEC 60079 / CompEx (hazardous areas) — no direct STCW equivalent: Safe work on electrical installations; required for electricians.

NR-33 — Espaço confinado — Enclosed Space Entry (SOLAS III/19) / OPITO Confined Space: Entry and rescue in tanks and enclosed spaces.

NR-34 — Construção e reparação naval — Hot Work / Shipyard safety (ISO 45001 practices): Hot work, welding and repairs in shipyards and on board.

GMDSS — Radioperador — STCW IV/2 GMDSS GOC: Operation of maritime distress and safety communications.

DP — Posicionamento Dinâmico — Nautical Institute DP Certificate (Limited / Unlimited): Operation of dynamic positioning systems (DPO).
